This is my Road Trip '98 travel log. In August of 1998 I packed up my new Subaru Outback, loaded the big camera and took off for 31 days to take as many pictures as I could. When it was over I had over 120 large format negatives and slides (a lot considering all the driving and the camera setup time, about 45 minutes per shot) and took pictures every day except for 2.
Note: The pictures in this site where captured from my DV camcorder and because they come from a video source, they're not exactly high quality digital pictures.
These are the day-by-day travel logs, indexed by the locations. They started on 8/6/98 and continued for 31 days.
Note: this is currently missing the last week of data. I will update it someday....
To see where I've been, save this Push-Pin set for Trip Planner or Streets and then import it (from the file menu). You can use the Push-Pin explorer (from the Tools menu) to navigate by date. Camps, picture locations, and other miscellaneous points of interest I've been to are listed.
(9/6/98 - Day 31) Home, back in Seattle suffering from post-vacation depression.
During the trip I updated this web page weekly. Here's a link to to the old archived home page Road Trip '98
