The first place I headed off to was the Olympic Peninsula for a short trip to work out
any kinks before I take off for the full 4 weeks. My plan is to go there for a couple of
days, take some pictures, and then come back and get them processed to make sure
everything is working Ok. Also, this would give me one last chance to go shopping for the
things I forgot to buy.
So, I started off from Seattle in the morning and caught the 9:50am Bainbridge ferry.
Crossed the Hood Canal, passed through Sequim and Port Angeles, rounded Lake
Crescent and then traversed my way through the Olympic National Forest. I made it to Mora
campground around 1pm. Mora is located on the coast only about 3 miles from Rialto Beach
and about 8 miles from the La Push Indian reservation (also on the coast near First
Beach).

Base camp #1 at Mora Campground. Modest but convenient.

After setting up camp, I headed off to Rialto Beach for a few pictures. Rialto is one
of m favorite beaches next to Ruby and Second Beach.

Near the far end of Rialto Beach.

Far end of Rialto Beach. Probably the most cliché
picture you
can take at this place
